Access to The Redgrave

Access to the auditorium is via two staircases within the Foyer. However, step-free access is available for wheelchair users and those with restricted mobility. If you require this access, please speak to a member of staff at the Box Office upon arrival at the theatre.

A designated easy-access space is available within the auditorium for wheelchair users. Please note that capacity is limited to one wheelchair user per performance. This space is identified as seat B17 on the seating plan, with additional seating provided alongside for a companion, B16.

Motorised mobility scooters are welcome; however, they may present a safety risk in certain situations. Customers who are unable to access the theatre by other means must inform the Box Office at the time of booking. Our team will then provide guidance to ensure the safe use of scooters within the theatre.

For health and safety reasons, customers are not permitted to bring their own seating into the auditorium, unless this is a wheelchair.

Warning notices regarding the use of strobe lighting, pyrotechnics, or other special effects will be displayed in the entrance foyer on the day of the relevant performance. If you would like further information in advance, please contact the Box Office.

Relaxed Performances

A relaxed performance creates a more inclusive and comfortable environment by easing traditional theatre rules and adjusting the ambiance. This type of performance is especially beneficial for individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or anyone who prefers a more relaxed setting. In a relaxed performance, the lighting in the auditorium is often brighter to help audience members navigate the space more easily and feel at ease throughout the show.

BSL-Interpreted Performances

Signed performances are tailored to make theatre accessible for patrons who use British Sign Language (BSL). In these performances, a trained BSL interpreter stands to the side of the stage, translating the dialogue and key auditory elements in real-time. This setup allows Deaf and hard-of-hearing audience members to fully engage with and enjoy the production, ensuring they experience the performance as intended by the creators.
