It’s Essex 1968 and Ford Dagenham have dropped the women’s pay grade to ‘unskilled’. Drawing on a strength she never knew she had, a working mother leads her friends in a battle against the might of Ford and the corruption of the union supposed to protect them. Refusing to be second-class citizens, the women embark on a monumental journey towards equality; but will the pressure be too much?
“Sometimes in your life, you gotta stand up for what you know is right and be prepared to fight”
Based on the true story of the 187 women who went on strike and brought the Dagenham Ford factory to a standstill. This landmark moment transformed the lives of people worldwide and triggered the passing of the 1970 Equal Pay Act.
Funny, touching and timeless, Made in Dagenham shows how ordinary people can do extraordinary things when they stand together.
