Little Shop of Horrors is a comedy, rock horror musical that opened off Broadway in the early 1980s. The show was created by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, and was the first of their many successful endeavors together. The story tells of Seymour, a nerdy orphan working at Mushnik’s flower shop in urban Skid Row. One day after a solar eclipse he finds a mysterious unidentified plant. The interesting plant attracts many customers to the shop which desperately needs new business in order to stay open.

The plant however starts to wither and Seymour, desperately trying every plant remedy he can think of, accidentally discovers that it has a strange and unique appetite - a craving for blood! It soon begins to sing for its supper, greedily pushing Seymour for more and more juicy red meat until he has no choice but to feed Orin the sadistic dentist to the plant. As the plant grows, so does its appetite. Will it take over the world? Join us in a gory but humorous sci-fi story with a 1960s pop/rock score, to find out how Seymour’s dream of romance, fame and riches turns into a nightmare.
